Still A Dog

You, Carolina Panthers fan, are very welcome.

Since encouraging you to spend your time more wisely and sharing my own jumping off point, the Panthers are 2-0. Maybe Tyler's rebuttal was right -- Maybe you just have to wait for that one day where things turn and now's that time.

Excuse me while I still save my Sunday's and watch the better products around the NFL.

But I did get a good little chuckle. You see -- After the Panthers have literally road the back of Rico Dowdle for the past two weeks, mounted impressive come-from-behind victories, and reached the .500 mark this deep in the season for the first time since '21... The oddsmakers still agree with me.

Looking up on Carolina's schedule, for week 7, are the WINLESS New York Jets. Given the two teams' records, the 3-3 Panthers should be the favorites. Instead, the Jets opened that way and are given -1.5 points.

Despite Dowdle being the most dominant running back in the league the past two weeks, Bryce Young playing like Tom Brady anytime people begin to doubt, and the team going up against an inept offense; There ain't a lot of widespread faith there. And still, there's really a bigger question here than just the astonishment of those betting odds....

If you're a tried-and-true Panthers fan, like our own Tyler seems to be: Are you putting large cash down, knowing you're even getting +1.5 points?

It's the same threat that's been touted for centuries -- Put your money where your mouth is.

IF Carolina is over the slump...

IF Young is a quality starting quarterback...

IF Dowdle is unstoppable...

IF Dave Canales finally has a handle on this offense...

IF David Tepper is now staying away...

IF the Panthers have proved they can finish off a game with a last-minute drive...

I still don't trust all those 'ifs' and you wouldn't find me spending a dime.

It's easy for folks to say, well the 1.5 is covering the Jets being at home. Then that means that the Panthers are virtually being seen as EVEN with an 0-6 team.

I just think it's a great litmus test. And I'm not attempting to encourage the activity of gambling. It can all be done in the mind. Same as this question: Would the aforementioned Tepper risk his immense wealth by placing it ALL on this weekend's road-dog game?

Truthfully, I think we all know the answer to that question.

Even Tyler.

Even Tepper.
