There was a day, in-between the CD's and flip phones, where people like yours truly spent exorbitant amounts of time using dial-up internet to download songs so I could listen to them on an MP3 player. Yup -- This was before things like Itunes and Spotify.

In those days, there were always threats you heard of. IF the right authorities found out you were using a site like "Napster" to download music for free, instead of paying for it like you were supposed to, they may kick-down the door and arrest you on the spot. In reality, it was stealing. But that doesn't account for the millions of people across the world that got away with it, scot-free.

In Greensboro, it's never been clearer that those days are behind us.

One Thirteen Brewhouse + Rooftop Bar is being sued for inevitably doing what music lovers in the 90's openly did. The suit claims that the Greensboro establishment used copyrighted music without permission and profited off of it.

When threats were made that the FBI would slam down the door and cuff people for trying to listen to popular music, I honestly thought it was a ruse. Guess they weren't kidding. It's a blast to the past.
