Anyone that knows ball, knows a thing or two about the famed halftime performer, Red Panda. She's marveled fans, of all ages, during basketball halftime shows across the world. She makes headlines. She fills seats.
It was shattering news when Red Panda fell from her 8-foot-tall unicycle back in July. The scene of her being wheeled in a chair, off the court, after a hard fall, being shown on sites and news across country. She was hospitalized for 11 hours and underwent surgery for a wrist fracture.
Not sure if I was the only one, but I wondered if it may force retirement and Red Panda may never flip soup bowls again.
After she had become a "regular" for High Point University halftimes, like so many other stops throughout college hoops, NBA, and WNBA -- Was it all over?
Since a report by ESPN in late September, there hasn't been exact word. Red Panda was healing. She hoped to return for the coming college basketball season to perform again.
Breaking NEWS!
Red Panda will indeed perform again, and she's starting her return right here in North Carolina!
Her first half-time show since the fall felt round the world will be at HPU's upcoming exhibition on Saturday night (Oct. 25) when they host the NCA&T Aggies.
While the game won't count, this is a monumental occasion in the world of college basketball, and HPU fans will be front and center to see it happen. And imagine of all the places that Red Panda could have scheduled to make her return to performing. Seriously, this is one of those moments you just don't want to take for granted.
You never know when it may be her last ride.
